Embassy and consulate legalization

Countries that are not part of the Apostille Convention ask for consular legalization. The document is first authenticated in Jamaica and then legalized by the embassy or consulate of the destination country.

Every embassy has its own forms, fees and translation rules. We prepare the file, book appointments, submit and collect the documents, so a process that can take many trips is handled for you.

What we take care of

  • Checking the destination country's requirements
  • Authentication of Jamaican documents
  • Certified translation into the required language
  • Submission to the embassy or consulate
  • Legalization of foreign documents for use in Jamaica
  • Return delivery by courier

Common questions

Apostille or legalization: which do I need?

If the destination country is a member of the Apostille Convention, an apostille is enough. Otherwise you need consular legalization. Tell us the country and we will confirm.

Is the embassy in Jamaica?

Many countries have an embassy or consulate in Kingston. For others, legalization is handled by their mission accredited to Jamaica in another country, which we arrange through our network.
